- ICO registration (data protection fee) — required for most CCTV operators
- Retention periods — footage shouldn't be kept longer than necessary (30 days is typical)
- Positioning — covering your property without intruding on neighbours or private areas
- Access control — who can view footage, and export procedures for police requests
